DINE AT CASTLE ELVIRA
The Elvira restaurant was originally the ancient Masseria farm attached to the estate. You will find it in the most beautiful, tranquil setting just a few meters away from the castle; the restaurant is the social hub of the estate and is where we serve our superb breakfast buffet, with optional A La Carte breakfast choices, and of course lunch and dinner. With a glorious shaded terrace, it is the perfect place to escape and grab some downtime, with a glass of cool Rosato and a good book to keep you company. In the evenings, below the traditional festival lights that illuminate the restaurant at night, enjoy that truly romantic dinner for two, or join other amazing guests and make it a more social event. The critical thing to remember is that it is always your choice.
Marino is our head chef, and he arguably produces the best Salento-inspired food in Salento.
Cucina Salentina is a very varied cuisine, mainly using excellent locally sourced produce. Fortunately, due to our location, we are able to buy products directly from surrounding farm suppliers, and we are able to source our fish directly from the fishing fleet in Gallipoli. Our meat products, which Puglia is not well known for, are sourced directly from the Italian regions that are famous for their meat production. For example, Emilia Romagna, Piemonte, Palma, and Bologna are all famous for their pork, beef, and other special Salumi (charcuterie). A few of Marino’s dishes that you should watch out for are our Parmigiana, Spaghetti with Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto, Fresh, slow baked Orata (Sea Bream), and our Elvira Burger, with a surprise Italian twist, which seems to be absolutely irresistible to most of our guests, Buon Apettito.
The Castle Rooftop Bar is open every evening, and with a 360° view of the surrounding Italian countryside and the spectacular Salento Sunsets, this is the daily finale that nobody misses.
Grab a sofa, order a bespoke Elvira, or classic cocktail/Mocktail, or one of our superb Pugliese wines, or any other drink from our extensive menu, sit back, take in the magnificent rooftop vista and allow yourself to be serenaded by the cool and eclectic Elvira music mix. For private events it is possible to pre-arrange a live classical concert or a string quartet.
Our mobile ‘Ape’ cocktail bar is available for special events. It can be driven to any location on the estate and set up just for you. Upon request.
